Swindon’s new recycling fleet wrapped and tagged ready for Christmas!
CVW wrapped Swindon Borough Council’s new fleet of 22 recycling vehicles and 19 refuse trucks, personalised with resident-chosen names. The wraps promote the “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” message, enhancing awareness for the borough's new waste and recycling service.
A brand-new fleet of 22 Romaquip Kerb Sort recycling vehicles have been wrapped and personalised with their own names before going into service for Swindon Borough Council in time for Christmas.
Creative Vehicle Wrapping (CVW) wrapped these vehicles, in addition to 19 Refuse Collection Vehicles, in preparation for the launch of the council’s new waste and recycling service, which commenced on 27 November.
To celebrate the biggest change to the Borough’s waste and recycling collections for over 15 years, residents were asked to name the new kerbside recycling trucks to raise awareness and increase recycling rates.
Over 300 suggestions were received when the competition was launched in September, and these were whittled down to 17 winners. The final winning names include Lightning McClean, Chitty Chitty Bin Bin, Binnie the Pooh, and Charlie Aust-bin. Each vehicle’s name has been added to the front of the cab, just below the windscreen.
Councillor Chris Watts, Cabinet Member for The Environment and Transport, said: “It was great to see so many people getting involved with the naming of our new vehicles.
“A big thank you to everyone who submitted a name and I hope people aren’t too disappointed if their name wasn’t chosen.”
Ian McKinnon, Fleet Manager at Swindon Borough Council: “We are delighted with the quality, speed of service and competitive price from Creative Vehicle Wrapping. The vehicles have been wrapped to a very high standard and the messaging is a great way to communicate the Reduce Reuse Recycle message to our residents.”
The team CVW team are Avery Dennison approved installers and experts in commercial and specialist vehicle wrapping. The company has its own fully equipped installation unit and has built a reputation for creating impactful ‘wrap’ campaigns on refuse vehicles and specialist commercial vehicles.
Jon Siviter, Director, CVW: “We are pleased to have worked with Swindon on the launch of their new fleet and to date we have wrapped over 40 vehicles including the recently rolled out fleet of food waste collection vehicles. The wraps do a great job of reinforcing the Reduce, Reuse and Recycle message across the Borough.”
