Gloucester City highlights the importance of recycling food waste

Gloucester City Council has become the eighth local authority share holder of environmental services company, Ubico. To mark the occasion a refuse vehicle from the authority’s new waste and recycling fleet has been wrapped with a message to highlighting the importance of recycling food waste.

Ian Bourton, Head of Fleet Operations, Ubico Limited: “We started a 10-year contract for a range of environmental services, including refuse collections, on April 1 after Gloucester City Council became the latest shareholder council in Ubico.

“Gloucester City Council have a range of climate targets that Ubico will help them reach. Along with a host of eco-vehicle and eco-driver initiatives that we are implementing, we were keen to use some of the vehicles to help communicate the council’s commitment to the environment through effective vehicle messaging. We are very pleased with the design, quality and finish of the wrap”
