'Leave Only Footprints' message on BCP's new electric vehicle

We are delighted to be continuing our work with Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council (BCP), by wrapping the latest addition to their electric refuse vehicle fleet to remind beach visitors  to put their litter in bins or take it home, as part of the council’s ‘Leave Only Footprints’ campaign.

Councillor Andy Hadley, Portfolio Holder for Climate Response, Environment and Energy, BCP Council, said:

“Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council now have seven electric refuse vehicles collecting waste across the BCP area.

“These all-electric vehicles support our climate and ecological emergency declaration, and they make a difference with quieter waste collections and cleaner air quality, with each vehicle saving between 30-40 tonnes of CO2 annually.

“Wrapping the vehicle with our Leave Only Footprints messaging is part of a strategy to promote environmental awareness on the seafront. Around 2,000 tonnes of waste is collected from our beaches each year, so anything we can do to encourage visitors to pick up their litter and leave only footprints when they head home, really helps us to protect our stunning environment for generations to come.”
